Evan Ferguson has joined Serie A club Roma on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 20-year-old Irish forward made headlines early in his career, notably scoring a hat-trick against Newcastle at just 18. However, his progress has slowed due to injuries and a dip in form. Ferguson has scored 17 goals in 80 appearances for Brighton but has found the net only once since November 2023. He spent the latter half of last season on loan at West Ham, featuring in eight matches without scoring. Roma confirmed the move, which includes an option to buy. Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said Ferguson is now injury-free and eager to play consistently, calling the loan a great opportunity for the young striker to regain momentum in a competitive league with the potential for European action.
