Sebastian Fundora made a bold statement in Las Vegas on Saturday night, battering Tim Tszyu into submission to retain his WBC super-welterweight title with a technical knockout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The towering 6-foot-6 American once again proved too much for the gritty Aussie, who didn’t answer the bell for the eighth round after taking a punishing seven-round beating.

Fundora wasted no time asserting dominance, flooring Tszyu in the opening round with a slick left hand. By the end of round two, Tszyu was already battling a nasty cut above his right eye. Despite his relentless heart and bursts of aggression in the middle rounds, the 29-year-old from Sydney couldn’t keep Fundora at bay.

“I gave it everything, but I just couldn’t do it,” Tszyu admitted post-fight. “Victory belongs to Sebastian Fundora—he’s the best 154-pounder on the planet right now. He’s very hard to hit. At times, I felt like I was shadowboxing with myself.”

The 27-year-old champion, now 23-1-1 with 15 knockouts, used his massive height and reach advantage masterfully—just as he did in their first bout last year.

“I’m the bigger guy, and everyone’s been calling me a bully,” Fundora said in the ring. “So, you know what—let’s start bullying these guys.”
